Hello, My name is Wayne yurkiw .
I grew up in a small town called Port Colborne. Growing up I was really into computers starting with my first Commodore 64 in the late 80's. I have always been fascinated by machines and computers were no different. As I became older I taught myself everything I could about computing and the internet. Throughout high school I would dabble in Flash animations, graphic design and AutoCAD, but it was all for fun. When I left high school in 2003 I started a career as a welder. Welding is a very interesting trade and I mostly enjoyed my time working with my hands and seeing all kinds of processes. But I have always had a strong urge to be creative, and trades allow for very little room for this. In 2011 my son was born, and it was a year later when working in trades really started to hurt my body and mind.
It was time for a change. Now that I was suffering lower back problems, and coming home too exhausted to spend time with my family, I decided to quit the job I was at and look for a new career. This is where my love for computers and my urge to be creative finally fell into the right place. With the advice from a friend, and looking to my previous experience with Flash, I was turned onto After Effects. Well let me tell you that it was a perfect match. Over the following weeks I would teach myself everything I could about motion design, and months later I had my first paying project. That same friend hired me to make 7 DJ loops for Heineken branded DJs. It was a huge learning experience and a trial by fire.
Fast forward to today and I am now working in 3D, self taught of course. Also, I am now working in macro/micro photography, photogrammetry and production consulting. As an artist I try to put as much of myself as I can into every project because I love creating.
